Sony PS3 Launch in Europe Delayed to Early 2007
September 15, 2006
According to Bloomberg, Sony will postpone the release of its PlayStation 3 in Europe to March 2007, which was originally scheduled to be available on November 17, 2006. The company stated that the delay is due to the shortage of Blu-ray players embedded in the devices. The PS3 will hit the Japanese and North American markets in November 2006 as scheduled, with predicted shipment volume reaching four million units in 2006, and six million units by late March 2007.
